Palantyr – The Ascent & The Hunger

Jawbreaker Records are proud to unveil the latest release from French speed metal force Palantyr! Their upcoming mini-album, The Ascent & The Hunger, is set for release in May 2025, delivering six tracks of relentless, melody-infused steel.

Hailing from Thionville, France, Palantyr – formerly known as Destrukt until August 2024 – returns with a vengeance, combining three tracks from their previous EP, The Ascent, with three brand-new, scorching anthems.

Athena’s commanding voice leads the charge, calling speedfreaks to battle with a dynamic fusion of speed and heavy metal, sharpened with an epic edge. Unlike many bands that look solely to the past, Palantyr dares to push forward, blending the ferocity of Mystik, the epic grandeur of Smoulder, and the raw heavy metal aggression of Blood Star, Tower, and Iron Griffin. The result? A perfect storm of speed, melody, and firepower.

But that’s not all – one of the new tracks is a ripping cover of Paul Roland’s Nosferatu, reimagined and reforged into a high-octane speed metal banger, proving Palantyr’s ability to reshape a song into something uniquely their own. Meanwhile, the remaining new tracks showcase the band’s most intense, yet melodically rich material to date, with riffs that drive adrenaline levels through the roof and choruses that demand fists in the air.

This release is a double-edged sword – ferocity and melody, velocity and power. For fans of Mystik, Acid, Smoulder, Blood Star, Iron Griffin, and Tower – this one’s for you!

The Ascent & The Hunger will be released digitally and on CD format on May 2, 2025.

Tyrannosatan – Babylons Skräck

Jawbreaker Records proudly presents: Tyrannosatan – Babylons Skräck

Tyrannosatan is back to unleash a venomous strike of raw black/thrash brutality! Babylons Skräck, their filthy new 4-track tape, drags you through a hellish storm of aggression, chaos, and untamed energy. Picking up where their debut album Katakombernas Kakofoni left off, the Swedish maniacs continue to blend grimy black/thrash with influences from old-school death, doom, speed and heavy metal, pushing their sound to even filthier extremes and creating REAL METAL, reminiscent of metal in its purest form back in the mid-to-late 1980s.

Kicking off the tape, Vehmir channels the blood-soaked spirit of old-school death metal with savage vocals, venomous riffs, and midtempo breaks packed with divebombs before plunging back into the fray. The title track, Babylons Skräck, locks you into headbanging grooves that refuse to let go, while Bland stenar och rötter lures you in with an acoustic intro before smashing your face with a relentless assault of blackened thrash and thunderous basslines. The final blow comes with Astronomicon, opening with an ominous, doom-laden intro before erupting into a black metal whirlwind of shrieks, ripping guitars, and apocalyptic atmosphere.

With their new drummer Pestgam (TyranexInisans) driving the chaos, Tyrannosatan has sharpened their claws and amplified their fury. Babylons Skräck is raw, uncompromising black/thrash mayhem at its finest. Surrender to the chaos or be left in the dust! This ferocious metal assault is recommended for fans of Infernäl MäjestyPowerlordDeathhammerPossessedHexecutor and Immortal. Are you ready to face the terror of Babylons Skräck?

Babylons Skräck will be released digitally and as a cassette tape on April 2, 2025.
