Emblem – Emblem
Firmly rooted in tradition, yet bold enough not to get stuck in the same old wheel tracks as everyone else. This album has a live feeling to it, making it feel very dynamic and interesting to listen to. Production overall is excellent, not over-polished as many contemporary records are. The singer’s vibrato gives the songs a melancholic touch and the song-writing is suberb; every song is filled to the brim with intricate and memorable melodies. Just one of many great examples is the song Encased in Stone, in which a super-charged guitar harmony which brings to mind Somewhere in Time-era Maiden is showcased. Includes a cover of Virtue‘s We Stand to Fight.

Mortal Whisper – Mortal Whisper
Behold Mortal Whisper, one of Chile's best heavy/speed metal bands!

This EP is so great! One of my personal favourites from the South American scene. Top notch heavy/speed metal, recommended for fans of Enforcer, the two latest Bullet albums (Storm of Blades and Dust to Gold) as well as Screaming for Vengeance-era Priest. Turn it up loud!
